Need
for Parenting
Parenting is a very tasking and at the same time rewarding job,
provided it is done in right perspective. One needs wisdom and patience to
train and teach child. Being a parent, exposes oneself to a new world of unseen
challenges every day. Key is to be patient and keep calm while dealing with
them.
Children are like raw clay waiting to be carved out into nice
models. As parents it’s our responsibility to observe and understand their
behavior as kids do what they see us doing or perceive us to be doing.
There’s a lot to be said about the link
between good parenting and a proper upbringing. A good parent must always
realize the importance of having a strong presence in the lives of their kids.
They must always prioritize the needs of their little ones over everything else.
At the end of the day, the most overwhelming
key to a child's success is the positive involvement of parents.
Parents are not only caretakers, but they are instrumental in
the development of their child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical
well-being.
To be a good father and mother requires that
the parents defer many of their own needs and desires in favor of the needs of
their children. As a consequence of this sacrifice, conscientious parents
develop a nobility of character in the children.
Every word, facial expression, gesture, or
action on the part of a parent gives the child some message about self-worth. Thus
each day parents make deposits in the memory banks of their children.
Parents routinely take care of their children on
three levels. Prevention from malnutrition, diseases and accidents. They adhere
to many programmes implemented through govt. schemes such as pulse-polio,
prevention of malaria, dengue health
care according to different seasons, hygiene etc. Parents undertake these tasks
without any training as per their experience, wisdom and the available
information .
It is however observed that many parents are
not aware of the child abuse at various levels by undesirable elements in the
society which is very traumatic experience for the children.
Therefore it is very important aspect of
parenting that they keep watch on the activities of their children so that they
don’t become victims of the brutal tendencies in society. A strong bond between Child and parents as a result of
regular communication will inculcate faith in child to trust the parents and confide and share everything good and bad with
them.
It is the parental responsibility to inculcate
values in the children so that they don’t grow up with undesirable traits.
It is truly said that “It is easier to build
strong children than to repair broken men.”
